Pre-App Go Bye Bye

We had a good dinner last night with some friends who just adopted two from Haiti to add to their existing three children. Yes, with ours, that means there were seven kids running around their house last night. WOW! Their kids are at home and their paperwork journey is still not over. We had a lot of questions and they had a lot of answers. They were able to provide us some insight on the good things and the bad regarding the process. It was an enlightening conversation and encouraged us in our journey. My personal feeling is that our conversation simply ensured that we are doing what God wants us to do. Our feelings right now (fear, excitement, etc.) are apparently normal. Now the really scary part...the pre-application goes into the mail today. The process begins today. Our lives change today. But we are pushing to get everything done as quickly as possible so that any delay in the process will not be on us.

Additionally, we have learned that there are at least three families (I think) in the area that we know of who have recently adopted from Ethiopia. In fact, one of those families is in Ethiopia right now picking up their child. All of these families are friends or families of some of our friends so they are easily accessible to meet and talk with about their experiences. So just like that, we have somewhat of a support group already. Thats all I have for now but I will keep the blog informed as we go. Later.
