We received notification over the weekend that Application #2 was approved. Our information is being sent over to the social worker to prepare for the home study which could take up to 90 days to complete. We will need to provide the Home Study Fee and the Program Management Fee #1 before we can begin the home study. We are also going to a required adoption seminar on Saturday in Dallas.
With the fees needed before we can progress in the process, we are praying for a good turnout at the garage sale fundraiser and the cake ball sale. We ask that you pray for these fundraisers as well. That being said....hey, guess what, we're having a garage sale to raise funds and we'll be selling cake balls as a fundraiser too. The garage sale will be Saturday, May 22, 2010 at our house in Rendon. If you have items that you would like to get out of your house, please consider donating to the garage sale. All funds raised from your gifts and donations will go directly toward the adoption fees.
Now on a very sad note, we are seeking a new and loving home for our existing son

(the dog) Hank. Hank is three years old and we adopted him from Tassie's Hope in 2007. He's a great dog but he's a herding dog. His hearding instincts cause him to occasionally jump and nip and your heels or elbows. While this is fine for the average adult, it can be damaging to young children if he accidentally knocks them over or nips their arms. Our kids are fine with him now but our adopted son will be smaller and more vulnerable to being pushed or knocked over by him. We want to place Hank in a home that does not have small children and a home that has a better ability than we do to exercise him and play with him more often. We are devastated by this decision but we feel it is best. He is a great dog and loves his family members very much.
For more information about the garage sale, cake ball sale or Hank, contact myself or Teri.
That's it, thank you.
JK

ReplyDeleteA cake ball is a ball of cake (ice cream scooper size) dipped in either white or dark chocolate. They're yummie!!! There's a small variety of flavors to choose from.
